Instead, we are often presented with a multitude of businesses and manufacturers worldwide that appear to offer solutions to our product needs. So how does one select the best solution?

gaskets manufacturer

The difference between the right choice and wrong choice is not just a matter of money, but also of quality, dependability, and lead-time time. For gaskets, the stakes can be particularly high. Make the wrong choice and disaster might follow.

This is particularly true for custom gaskets that seal joints, stabilize pressure, control heat, reduce noise and perform various other functions.

Choose a Proven Supplier

Perhaps the best solution for sourcing gaskets is to seek out a leading waterjet cutting firm that specializes in producing custom gaskets. With more than 28 years of experience, Precision Cutting Service is one of the most trusted gasket manufacturers in the US.

Large Gasket

We produce gaskets for multiple industries, including food and beverage, petrochemicals, aerospace, marine and automotive, to name a few. We tightly nest and expertly cut multiple gaskets from large sheets of virtually any material for maximum efficiency, lead-time reliability, quality and price. We keep a large inventory of the more popular gasket materials in stock and maintain a strong network of material suppliers for applications that require highly specialized material.

Some of the more common gasket materials we cut include graphite, rubber (silicone, neoprene, natural, etc.), Teflon, PTFE, and compressed non-asbestos fiber (CNAF) and cork. We also cut brass, aluminium, vegetable fiber and more. The more common gaskets we cut include envelope gaskets, sheet material gaskets, ring gaskets, and flat metal gaskets. We also cut thousands of custom and specialty gaskets each year.

Experienced Waterjet Cutting for Reliable Results

Leading waterjet cutting firms like Precision Cutting Service provide superior customer service and exceptional guidance. If you are unsure of the material that best suits your application, or if you are wondering if there might be better material options than the one you currently use, you can count on our trained and experienced staff to guide you to the correct choice.

Waterjet Cutting Machine

Our water jet cutting systems use a computer controlled, fine and high pressure stream of water to precisely and economically cut the gaskets your application requires. They can be as thick as two inches or as thin as paper, with tolerances of ±.003.” They can run as large or larger than a full-size SUV and as small or smaller than a dime. And they never require post-finishing to remove burrs or other imperfections. Precision Cutting Service always delivers the gaskets they cut with sharp, clean and smooth edges.

Multiple Ways to Communicate

You can send us your specifications in virtually any digital file format, including CAD, pdf, vector, jpg, and png. You can also send us a technical drawing or even a rough sketch. You can even send us the actual gasket you need and we will re-engineer it.

Choosing Custom Gaskets for Food & Beverage Industry https://precisioncuttingservice.com/custom-food-processing-gasket/ Mon, 28 Feb 2022 12:00:44 +0000 https://precisioncuttingservice.com/?p=1819 Food safety is the key driver for the food processing industry. Food businesses must ensure that their food processing systems are flawlessly hygienic and, to help achieve this, they often need specialized food-grade gaskets.
Food processing gasket manufacturers, in turn, are required by law to conform to USDA and FDA guidelines so as not to contaminate food and beverages with their products.

When choosing a custom gasket manufacturer for your food processing application, consider factors such as manufacturer reputation, gasket design, material, and FDA and USDA compliance. Precision Cutting Service in Savannah, Georgia, is one of the nation’s leading food processing gasket manufacturers.

With more than 25 years of experience, we use sophisticated waterjet cutting systems to produce precise, reliable, burr-free gaskets that are guaranteed to meet all of your food processing requirements. If you are unsure of the gasket material you need, or if you are looking for alternatives, contact our team of skilled associates and we will offer solutions specifically tailored to your application(s).

food processing gaskets

Design
Food processing operations need their gaskets to fit and perform perfectly. Our modern computer design and waterjet cutting systems enable us to create accurate, high-performing food processing gaskets for every food processing application that requires them. Our waterjet cutting systems are equipped with robotically controlled cutting nozzles that operate at pressures up to 60,000 psi to produce precise, smooth gaskets with superior edge quality. These systems keep waste to the minimum by tightly nesting the gaskets to be cut into the material required, thus eliminating unnecessary material costs.

We will produce your gaskets from either CAD or PDF files, blueprints, or other technical drawings, or even from an actual gasket that you need to replicate or redesign. Also, if you need a prototype, we will make it quickly with no hassle.

Material
When selecting a material for your custom food processing gaskets, remember to consider temperature and pressure. A food processing gasket needs to handle both first and foremost. The gasket material also needs to be non-toxic to ensure the integrity of the final product, and our inhouse experts will see to it that it is.

Some commonly used gasket materials include non-asbestos fiber, white Nitrile Buna-N, silicone rubber, Teflon, PTFE, and EPDM rubber. Non-asbestos fiber and silicone rubber work best for high-temperature and/or high-pressure environments, white Nitrile Buna-N is good for abrasion and oily foods resistance, and PTFE works well for applications that use chemicals. EPDM rubber also works well for a variety of beverage applications. If you need guidance on the material that works best for your application, ask our proven customer service team for recommendations.Custom food processing gaskets

At Precision Cutting Service we work hard to make certain the food-grade gaskets we furnish conform to all USDA and FDA guidelines and can be used in a wide variety of applications, including meat, poultry, and fish processing.

Waterjet Cutting Experts Explain: What is a Constant Seating Stress Gasket? https://precisioncuttingservice.com/waterjet-cutting-experts-explain-what-is-a-constant-seating-stress-gasket/ Mon, 23 Nov 2020 20:02:00 +0000 https://precisioncuttingservice.com/?p=1325 water jet cutting nozzle cutting steel

It’s no secret that gaskets were designed to prevent gas and fluid leaks for flange face and joints. In fact, they were developed because there’s no way to create a leak-proof joint without using them. Custom gaskets are designed to provide compressible material that fit precisely between the faces of a joint, particularly flange faces, to combat internal pressure and to create a reliable seal.

At Precision Cutting Service, we’ve manufactured hundreds of different types of gaskets, among them constant seating stress gaskets. Here’s a bit more information about them.

Uneven Loading on Gaskets

Often, when the flanges of a joint are bolted together there can be an uneven load on the gasket, causing issues down the road. Improper loading on gaskets will put unnecessary pressure on their outer edges, causing an uneven compression. However, with constant seating stress gaskets, you’ll minimize maintenance costs and issues caused by vibration and high internal pressures.

Uniform Sealing Stress

Some applications require uniform sealing stress, and constant seating stress gaskets can provide this by inserting a steel annulus between the flanges that completely resists compression. Doing this creates a small gap on either side of the annulus that’s then filled with the custom gasket.

Often, constant seating stress gaskets are manufactured out of vermiculite or graphite that is then layered onto a metal backing attached to the annulus. As the flanges come together, the material of the gasket is compressed, but only until the flanges close around the annulus. This makes the sealing stress completely even, providing an expanded lifespan for your joints.

Sealing Joints that Have Issues

When you replace a failed gasket, inspect it to determine where the wear and tear on it took place. If it failed on the outer edges, your joint may require a constant seating stress gasket to prevent failure or unnecessary maintenance costs in the future.
